Raipur, August 24, 2026: Chhattisgarh government has directed the officials for preparation of a comprehensive route plan to streamline, facilitate, and enhance the public-friendly operation of e-buses in Raipur under the Pradhan Mantri E-Bus Yojana.
Principal Secretary of the Urban Administration and Development Department Sonmani Bora held a meeting with senior officials at the Mantralaya today to review departmental plans.
Bora conducted a detailed review of the Pradhan Mantri E-Bus Yojana, the proposed Waste-to-Energy Project under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 1.0, the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0, and the work being undertaken under the 15th Finance Commission.
He stated that while determining the routes for e-buses, schools, colleges, hospitals, and other important landmarks along with Raipur’s major tourist attractions should be included, ensuring better connectivity between various parts of the city and allowing more citizens to avail of public transport.
Bora directed the preparation of a detailed survey plan to assess the feasibility of proposed bus routes, passenger traffic, and connectivity. He also directed the preparation of a list of bus stops based on the PPP model and the location of bus stops according to passenger convenience and needs.
The Principal Secretary said that innovative technologies should be effectively utilized to make the e-bus scheme modern and citizen-centric. By making the arrangements related to bus routes, bus stops, bus availability, and passenger amenities technology-based, an action plan should be developed to provide passengers with convenient, safe, and better public transportation.
