Raipur, August 23, 2026: Photographs connect the past with the present. Sometimes they document history, and sometimes they revive forgotten moments. A similar scene unfolded in the capital, Raipur, today when Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai relived his long journey in public life through his old photographs.
Some recalled memories of becoming an MLA for the first time, while others offered glimpses of life connected to villages, farms, and the soil. During this period, the Chief Minister displayed a unique style. He personally took the camera and made the occasion memorable by photographing a photojournalist.
Sai today attended the closing ceremony of “Drishya Samvad 2026,” a five-day photojournalist festival organized by the Raipur Press Club on the occasion of World Photography Day.
Held since August 19th, the Chief Minister visited the photo exhibition and appreciated the photographs taken by photojournalists and participants in the open category.
While visiting the exhibition, Chief Minister Sai’s old photographs from his political and public life brought back many memories.
Viewing the old photographs, he shared many interesting anecdotes with those present. Seeing a photograph from the time he first became an MLA, the Chief Minister explained that he had a safari suit specially tailored for him at that time. This small recollection created a comfortable and cordial atmosphere among those present.
Photographs of Sai’s rural life and farming were also displayed at the exhibition. Seeing a photograph of himself plowing, he reminisced about his farming days. He said that the photographs of the village and farming reminded him of his soil, his fields, his barns, and his old days.
The Chief Minister also shared his experiences of rural life with the journalists.
