Raipur, September 23, 2026: Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory, located in Kawardha, Chhattisgarh, has received a national award in the ‘Highest Sugar Recovery – Other Area’ category for two consecutive crushing seasons: 2024-25 and 2025-26.
The National Cooperative Sugar Federation honoured the factory at the Sugar Factory Efficiency Awards ceremony held at the Dr. Ambedkar International Center in New Delhi.
Chhattisgarh’s Cooperation Minister Kedar Kashyap attended the ceremony as a distinguished guest. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari presented the award. Union Minister of State for Cooperation Krishan Pal Gurjar was also present on the occasion.
It is a matter of special pride for Chhattisgarh that a cooperative sugar factory in the state has received a national award in this category for the first time.
At the ceremony, the Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory, Kawardha, received the National Award for “Highest Sugar Recovery in Other Area” for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 crushing seasons. The award was received jointly on behalf of the factory by the Commissioner of Cooperation Ramesh Sharma, departmental officials, and the factory management.
Congratulating the sugarcane farmers associated with the factory and the factory management on this achievement, Cooperation Minister Kashyap stated that this success was made possible through the supply of high-quality sugarcane by farmers, the factory’s technical efficiency, and excellent management.
He remarked that this honour recognizes the hard work of the farmers and the collective strength of the cooperative system.
