     Bilaspur, November 12, 2014: In yet another case, six more women have been admitted in hospital today after about a dozen cases of death from a sterilization camp were reported since Monday in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh.

     “Six women from Gorella camp had developed complicacy and they have been brought in to Bilaspur for treatment,” Commissioner of Bilaspur division Sonmani Borah said.

     A camp was organised on Monday in three places namely Marwahi, Pendra and Gorella, all forestry area in Bilaspur district and 27 operations were conducted, Borah said.

     Among the cases of Gorella, six women developed complicacy and complaint of similar ailments like Saturday Sakri sterilization camp in the same Bilaspur district, he said.

     Looking into their condition, they have been admitted in Hospital and “the conditions are stable,” Borah said.

     Meanwhile, of the sixty-one sterilization cases undergoing treatment in various hospitals, about 14 of them have developed kidney ailment, he said.

     “Due to kidney ailment the sterilized women needed dialysis,” the senior official said.

     “We also have requisitioned more dialysis machines from nearby towns like Korba and Raigarh to meet the situation,” he said.

     The official also said “Due to immediate medical intervention we saved several lives, although we failed to save the lives of eleven women”.
