Raipur, April 18, 2010: Ruling BJP in Chhattisgarh today accused the Congress party of not supporting it on its fight against the naxalites.
BJP wanted a decisive fight on the naxal issue but the Congress was not supporting it on the issue of Maoism, senior BJP leader and former state President Nand Kumar Sai alleged today.
The BJP also accused the Congress party of responsible for the rise in naxal movement in the country.
However, it was only the BJP which had the courage to fight the naxals, and the Raman Singh Government was combating the Maoists in Chhattisgarh, Sai said.
On the other hand Congress had formed its government at the Centre with the Communist, which is the parent organisation of the naxal movement, and the Congress government in Andhra Pradesh had the support of the Maoists, claimed the senior BJP leader.
The BJP also accused the Congress party of having soft approach towards terrorism and naxalism despite being in power at the Centre.
