Mumbai, April 23, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today participated in the CMAI Fab Show 2025 organized at the Bombay Exhibition Center here and emphasised on the possibilities of investment in the textile and apparel sector in the state.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister interacted with investors and industrialists associated with the textile sector and invited them to invest in Chhattisgarh and said we have opened new doors of investment in the textile industry sector.
The Chhattisgarh government has also signed an MoU with CMAI (Clothing Manufacturers Association of India). With this, Chhattisgarh has taken a step towards becoming an emerging center in the textile, garment and handloom sector.

“Recently we have approved in the Cabinet the opening of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Nava Raipur. This institute, which will be built at a cost of Rs 271 crore, will promote the textile industry in Chhattisgarh,” addressing the industrialists, Sai said.
Champa’s Kosa sarees in Chhattisgarh are unmatched in their craft. MoU with CMAI and establishment of NIFT will help a lot in branding and promotion of textiles like Champa’s Kosa, he said.

The textile industry is directly linked to rural self-employment, technology and skill development. “In the new industrial policy, we have tried to promote MSMEs related to the textile sector, taking care of all these facilities. We are giving special grants to enterprises that employ more than 1000 local people. Out of an investment of Rs 100 crore, Rs 252 crore is being reimbursed by our government. No state in the country has such a good policy in the field of textiles. Small and medium enterprises related to the textile industry are getting its benefit,” Sai said.
He said that special concessions have been given for starting enterprises in areas like Bastar and Sarguja.

The Chief Minister said that due to the policies of Single Window System, Ease of Doing Business and Speed of Doing Business, investment proposals are being approved very fast. From Ease of Doing Business, we have now moved towards Speed and Business. We have done more than 350 reforms and have made the investment environment very comfortable, the Chief Minister added.
