Raipur, July 22, 2024: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today said Chhattisgarh has a better student-teacher ratio compared to the national average.

Replying to questions of BJP MLAs like former Education Minister Ajay Chandrakar and MLA Motilal Sahu, the Chief Minister said, Compared to the national average of 26 students per teachers, Chhattisgarh has a better average of 21 students per teacher.
However, there is a shortage of teachers in certain schools, he admitted.
Some schools have no teachers or one teacher to man the school, he said.
“We are looking into it and once rationalisation is made this shortage of teachers will be resolved,” the Chief Minister said.
Being the in charge of the School Education Department the Chief Minister was replying to question hour on the issue in the inaugural day of the Monsoon session of Chhattisgarh Assembly.
