Jagdalpur, January 02, 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected President of Bastar District Press Club Manish Gupta and other officials and congratulated them.
Bastar has its own challenges and doing journalism in this challenging environment is also a challenging task, said Chief Minister Sai.
“I salute all of you for presenting the hopes, thoughts and problems of the common people in Bastar before the government and administration by becoming a mirror,” he said.
“This New Year when I was reading the newspaper, Bastar was in the headlines on the front page. These headlines were not about any Maoist violence, these headlines were about the light of development that reached Bastar. Maoist terror has now subsided from Bastar. The identity of Bastar has now changed,” the Chief Minister said.
In the programme, Chief Minister Sai administered the oath to the newly elected officials of Bastar District Press Club and congratulated and wished the officials for the New Year along with discharging the new responsibility.
Bastar District Press Club President Manish Gupta gave the welcome address in the programme.
As the fourth pillar of democracy, by following the high standard of journalism, inform the public about the good works of the government and also tell about the shortcomings, said Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao.
The journalists of Bastar have played an important role in establishing new dimensions of journalism, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap said.
A large number of journalists, including Sports Minister Tankaram Verma were present on this occasion.
