Raipur, May 26, 2025: Interior Pamed in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, which was once considered the stronghold of Maoist Battalion No. 1, today banks are opening there, girls’ residential schools are being built and people are participating in good governance camps with open mind.
This is the changed Bastar – a symbol of self-confidence, development and democracy.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said this today while inaugurating the branch of Chhattisgarh Gramin Bank in Pamed, a remote area of Bijapur district and formerly affected by Maoists.
Chief Minister Sai described it as a new dawn of development and confidence and said that now the villagers will not have to go 100 km away to Awapalli for banking services. This initiative reflects the vision of good governance and inclusive development of the government.
He said that this branch will directly benefit Pamed and 50 surrounding villages, where now there will be convenience in opening accounts, withdrawing money and taking the amount of schemes like Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Sai especially assured the women that they will now not have to travel long distances for the scheme amount.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the 50-seater Adivasi Kanya Ashram in Pamed, which cost Rs 1.62 crore. He said that in the coming time, through the Kanya Ashram, the daughters of Bastar will join the mainstream of education and development and provide new leadership to Bastar and give new heights of development to the region.
A Nutrition Rehabilitation Center (NRC) is being established in Pamed, so that the malnourished children of the surrounding area do not have to wander for treatment, he said and urged the villagers to bring the children to the Nutrition Rehabilitation Center on time and get health benefits.
He said that the construction of Dharmavaram Bridge on Talperu River is going on at a fast pace, due to which now the compulsion of going to Bijapur by traveling 200 km long journey through Cherla in Telangana will end. This bridge will not only connect Pamed, but will also become the main gateway of regional development.
The Chief Minister said that increasing the convenience of transportation, the government has started a direct bus service between Pamed and Bijapur. Now it is possible to go in the morning and return in the evening. People’s daily routine has become easier and business-service activities have increased rapidly.
On this occasion, a Samadhan camp was also organized under ‘Sushasan Tihar’, in which regional public problems were resolved quickly. The Chief Minister said that this campaign is a proof of our commitment to provide administration to the people at their doorstep in Chhattisgarh.
A large number of villagers were present in the Samadhan camp. Former Forest Minister Mahesh Gagda, District Panchayat President Janaki Korsa, Collector Sambit Mishra, Superintendent of Police Dr. Jitendra Kumar Yadav, local public representatives and other officials were present on this occasion.
