Raipur, April 28, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, while reviewing the works of the Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department in detail at the Secretariat today, said it is their top priority to take development to the last person of the state by empowering the Panchayats.
The Chief Minister said that Panchayats are the first link in the development journey and called for effective implementation of the schemes for the rural development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved to provide permanent houses to every poor family and that work should be completed within the time limit, he said.
While reviewing the ongoing survey work under the “Mor Dwar-Sai Sarkar” under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the Chief Minister expressed happiness over the completion of the survey of more than 20 lakh families.
He directed the officials to ensure timely construction and continuous review of the houses approved for special backward tribal families under the PM Janman Yojana. Also, while giving special emphasis on real time tracking of works related to PM Awas, he instructed not to be negligent at any level.
While reviewing the works of MGNREGA, the Chief Minister emphasized on ensuring maximum employment generation and quality of works.
He also discussed the plan to honour on Panchayati Raj Day the members of the three-tier Panchayati Raj representatives, who are doing excellent work.
Sai discussed with the officials on giving top priority to technology monitoring system, resource management, plan coordination, fast construction and quick target fulfillment in the upcoming action plan of the department.
Niyyad Nella Nar Yojana gives new strength to the villagers: Panchayat and Rural Development Department Principal Secretary Niharika Barik informed that under the Niyyad Nella Nar Yojana, 6,324 new job cards have been made under MNREGA in the Gram Panchayats. Works have started for the first time under the scheme in 8 villages of 4 Gram Panchayats of Bastar Division.
Along with this, 3,134 members of 913 job card holder families have got employment in MGNREGA for the first time.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Niharika Barik Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister P Dayanand, Secretary to Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat, Secretary Panchayat Bhim Singh, Special Secretary Panchayat Dharmesh Sahu, Commissioner MGNREGA Taran Prakash Sinha and departmental officers and employees including Jayshree Jain were present in the meeting.
