Raipur June 11, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, the concept of cooperation through prosperity is being realised.
Sai said that with their inspiration, the state BJP government is engaged in connecting the houses of the state with cooperatives.
He said that milk production is being promoted in the state in collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board with the aim of promoting cooperative activities.
Recently, milk cattle distribution has been launched in the state, under which two cows are being distributed to the beneficiaries by selecting 6 districts of the state for the pilot project, he added.
Chief Minister Sai said that a major initiative to provide banking facility to farmers and rural people of the state has been started from Panchayati Raj Day this year.
Atal Digital Suvidha Kendras have been opened in 1460 Gram Panchayats of the state, through which banking facility is being provided in Gram Panchayat Bhavan itself. He said that by the next Panchayati Raj Day, this facility will be available in all gram panchayats of the state, which will give great relief to the farmers.
He also mentioned the major changes that took place in the field of cooperatives during Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh’s tenure as Chief Minister.
Sai said that the former Chief Minister Singh gave relief to the farmers by continuously reducing the interest rates. Now short-term loans are available to farmers for agricultural works without any interest.
The Chief Minister congratulated the people on the opening of the new branch of Apex Bank in Farsabahar in Jashpur district in his address at the inauguration and felicitation ceremony of the newly appointed chief of Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Bank Limited Kedarnath Gupta.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said this year is the International Year of Cooperatives, and with the efforts of Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, a huge change is definitely taking place in this sector.
He said that the tireless efforts of the Chief Minister have brought happiness in the lives of the farmers of the state. Sai is the first chief minister in the entire country who has purchased paddy at the rate of 21 quintals per acre and 3100 rupees per quintal, Singh added.
He said that Sai has worked for bringing the cooperative to the last village of the state. Apex Bank is the most powerful organisation in the state with a turnover of 40 thousand crore rupees and through it, a loan of 7 thousand 5 hundred crore rupees has been provided to the farmers so far.
