Raipur, January 20, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today launched the Pundit Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Labourer Welfare Scheme and said one more guarantee of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was fulfilled by the state BJP government today.

BJP had made a promise to landless agricultural labourers that they would be given financial assistance of Rs 10 thousand annually. Today that promise was fulfilled, launching the Pundit Deendayal Upadhyay Bhumihin Krishi Mazdoor Kalyan Yojana in the auditorium at New Circuit House, the Chief Minister said.
In Chhattisgarh, a large population depends on agriculture, but there are also people who do not even have agricultural land and they earn their livelihood by doing agricultural labour. Keeping them in mind, BJP had also made a promise to the landless agricultural labourers to give them financial assistance of Rs 10 thousand annually. Today that promise was fulfilled.
A total of 5 lakh 62 thousand 112 people of the state will be getting the benefit of this scheme. Under this scheme, 562 crore 11 lakh 20 thousand rupees will be provided to landless agricultural labourers, he said.
The objective behind starting the Pundit Deendayal Upadhyay Bhumihin Krishi Mazdoor Kalyan Yojana is to provide financial support to landless agricultural labourer families by increasing their net income. This scheme includes landless agricultural labourers along with landless families of forest produce collectors, shepherds, carpenters, blacksmiths, cobblers, barbers, washermen, etc. and landless families associated with the Pauni-Pasari system, the Chief Minister said.
Apart from these, Pujari, Baiga, Gunia, Majhi families who worship in the tribal temples in scheduled areas have also been included.
The Chief Minister also distributed a cheque of Rs 10,000 to the landless labourer beneficiaries.
Most of the guarantees given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people of Chhattisgarh have been fulfilled by the state government within just one year, Sai said.
On the second day of taking oath, the first cabinet meeting approved Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for 18 lakh needy families.
The government has also increased the eligibility criteria for PM Awas Yojana. Now, those who have two-wheelers, 2.5 acres of irrigated land or 5 acres of unirrigated land, and whose monthly income is Rs 15,000 will also be eligible for PM Awas Yojana, Sai said.
The survey work for Awas Plus has also been started in the state. The government is trying to ensure that the benefits of good governance reach every citizen of Chhattisgarh, he added.
