Kanker, August 31, 2014: Congress workers today burnt the effigy of the former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi and expelled congress leader Mangtu Ram Pawar.
Mangtu Ram Pawar had withdrawn his candidature from Antagarh by-poll as a congress candidate on August 29, 2014.
The agitated congress workers also blamed Ajit Jogi for the incident and raised slogans demanding his expulsion from Congress
Pawar is a close confidant of former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi and after the state was formed in the year 2000 Pawar had offered to even vacate his seat for Jogi to enter the state assembly.
The Antagarh Assembly by-election would be held on September 13 and the counting of votes on September 16.
After Vikram Usendi elected to Lok Sabha from Kanker as a BJP candidate he had vacated the Antagarh seat.
