Raipur, March 13, 2010: Tainted IAS officer Nand Kumar was today snubbed by the Chief Secretary P Joy Oommen in the Collectors’ Conference here.
During the Conference, all the heads of departments were asked to put forth their points and Principal Secretary D S Misra, PWD Secretary M K Raut, Power Secretary Aman Singh and Health Secretary Vikash Sheel among others addressed the Collectors.
However, when the turn of the School Education Secretary Nand Kumar came, he preferred to speak on the issue of Right to Education, when the conference was convened on the Gram Suraj Abhiyan and on the issue of crisis of water during summer among others.
Intervening in the discussion, the Chief Secretary asked the School Education Secretary to limit himself to the day’s agenda and not on issues which have no relation to the Conference, officers attended the conference told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
Since Nand Kumar came unprepared for the conference, he winded up his speech in two minutes and handed over the mike to others, the officials said.
The controversial Maharashtra cadre IAS was in news recently after the state Lok Ayukt asked the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh to take disciplinary action against the Education Secretary for allegedly committing irregularities in appointment of Shalini Raman and Prashant Sukhdeve as the Director and Assistant Director respectively of the Chhattisgarh Mahila Samakhya Society under the School Education Department.
