Raipur, April 12, 2026: Under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN), a baseline survey for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) has commenced in Chhattisgarh.

This survey is being conducted through a mobile app to ensure that the benefits of various schemes reach every single family.

The Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) was launched to facilitate the holistic development of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). The objective of this mission is to provide basic amenities—such as pucca (permanent) housing, clean drinking water, education, healthcare, electricity, and road connectivity—to 75 PVTG communities across 18 states and Union Territories.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan, the baseline survey for PVTG communities—primarily the Baiga and Birhor tribes—has officially begun.

This survey is being carried out using a mobile app, leveraging modern technology. Survey teams are visiting every PVTG household door-to-door to collect detailed information regarding all family members.

During this process, data regarding essential documents and benefits—including Aadhaar cards, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan accounts, Ayushman cards, Sickle Cell cards, vaccination status, Ration cards, benefits under the Ujjwala Scheme, and Caste Certificates—is being compiled.

Official sources stated that this exercise is being conducted based on real-time location data using the ‘Survey Setu App,’ developed by the Government of India, thereby ensuring the transparency and accuracy of the survey.

This digital process not only enables the rapid compilation of data but will also facilitate the formulation of future development schemes, they added.
