Raipur, April 21, 2024: Anil Tuteja, a powerful bureaucrat of Chhattisgarh and close confidant of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, was today arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on allegation of involvement in Rs 2000 crore Liquor scam.
Retired IAS Tuteja was arrested by the ED and produced in a local court in Raipur.
The vacation court of Sunday has sent him to one day judicial remand and has directed the ED to produce him tomorrow.
Anil Tuteja has been alleged as the architect of liquor scam by the ED.
Yesterday after the interrogation by the EOW and ACB, both the father Anil Tuteja and son Yash were picked up by the ED in front of the EOW office.
However, after some time the ED has released son Yash and arrested Anil Tuteja.
Anil Tuteja was in fact running the government as a close confidant of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
The ED had been trying hard to arrest him in many cases of money laundering, including in coal scam, NAN Scam and Liquor Scam. However, due to Supreme Court restrain, he could not be arrested.
