Bemetara, September 13, 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai addressing a district-level ceremony honouring teachers and meritorious students in Bemetara today, stated that education is essential for advancement in every aspect of life, and the role of the teacher is paramount in this entire process.
Speaking at the event held at the Basic School ground in Bemetara, Chief Minister Sai said that education forms the foundation for the progress of the individual, society, and the nation.

He reiterated that education is vital for moving forward in all walks of life and that teachers play the most crucial role in this journey.
The Chief Minister noted that teachers do not merely impart textbook knowledge; they shape personalities, instill values, provide the right direction, and lay a strong foundation for the bright future of society and the nation.

At the ceremony, Sai honoured 81 retired teachers from the district by presenting them with shawls, coconuts, mementos, and certificates of appreciation. Additionally, 42 meritorious students from the district who excelled in board and college examinations were honoured with gold medals and certificates, presented by various social organizations.

Congratulating the honoured teachers and students, the Chief Minister highlighted the glorious tradition of respecting the Guru (teacher) in our country. He stated that teachers build generations through their knowledge, experience, and values. The impact of a teacher’s instruction is not limited to a single student but extends to their family, society, and future generations; this is why teachers are hailed as nation-builders.
Sai described education as the light of knowledge that dispels the darkness of ignorance. He explained that education fosters self-confidence and decision-making abilities while making individuals aware of their rights and duties. It is educated citizens grounded in good values who build an empowered society and a developed nation.

He added that India has been a land of knowledge and education since ancient times. Students from various parts of the world used to come to globally renowned centers of learning like Taxila and Nalanda to acquire knowledge. This rich tradition of learning continues to inspire us today. In an era of changing times and new technologies, the nature of education is also undergoing rapid transformation. Amidst this, it is essential to provide children with quality, modern education while preparing them to meet future requirements.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is placing special emphasis on quality education alongside the expansion of infrastructure and modern facilities in the education sector. Our endeavor is to ensure that no child in Chhattisgarh is left behind due to a lack of resources or opportunities. Whether in rural or urban areas, and regardless of whether they come from poor or affluent families, every child should have equal opportunities to hone their talents, receive a good education, and realize their dreams.
