Raipur, October 16, 2022: Three time MLA, former Home Minister and current Deputy Speaker of Chhattisgarh Assembly Manoj Singh Mandavi was passed away today after a massive cardiac arrest.
Mandavi had a heart attack last night at his native place Nathiya Nawagaon in Kanker district and was rushed to a private hospital at Dhamtari, where he was declared brought dead in the wee hours today, official sources said in Dhamtari.
Mandavi was Congress MLA from Bhanupratappur and a prominent tribal leader, who was the Minister of State for Home in the Ajit Jogi government.
Mandavi was known for his free style politics and had an excellent rapport with media and politically rival factions also.
His last rite will be performed today at his native village Nathiya Nawagaon in Kanker district in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, several of his cabinet colleagues and other senior leaders.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in a condolence message said Mandavi was MLA in 1998, 2013 and 2018 and in a very effective way taking up the issues of tribals.
Speaker Dr Charan Das Mahant said prominent tribal leader Mandavi was a very humble, soft spoken and gentle in his approach.
Assembly Secretary Dinesh Sharma and members from the Media Advisory Committee also paid tributes to the Deputy Speaker, who was also the chairman of the Media Advisory Committee.
