Raipur, February 16, 2009: After an impasse for two days over alleged misbehave by police to the members of media, the Chhattisgarh government today announced to take action against the officials.
Amid empty Press gallery for the second consecutive day, Home Minister Nanki Ram Kanwar told the state assembly today that the Deputy SP (traffic) B R Hirwani and Inspector Pramesh Dhruv have been removed from their current postings.
The Minister said they were removed after the media persons complaints that both the officials had ill treated the journalists.
On Friday when some of the members from the media community were returning from the Assembly after completing their assignment, they were not only stopped to give passage to a minister but also their vehicle was fined.
Meanwhile, Raipur SP Amit Kumar is conducting a detailed probe into the incident of Friday, said Kanwar.
After this action, journalists would cover the house proceeding as usual from Tuesday, Media sources said.
