Raipur, January 15, 2023: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today said his government has been engaged in working on the overall improvement of the socio-economic condition of people of the state.
Through various schemes, the state government is working towards increasing the income of all sections of the people, the Chief Minister told a function here.
Besides this, the government is also working towards improvement on education, health, employment opportunities and in the field of culture, Baghel said adding this was the primary model of development of the state Congress government.
The main aim of the government was to increase the income of the common man, he said.
The state government has been specifically working towards increase in the income of farmers, labourers and tribal youths among others.
Along with that, the state government is also working towards eradication of mal-nutrition and illiteracy in the state.
Because of that, 41 per cent of the children between the age group of zero to 5 years have been now out of malnutrition bracket, the Chief Minister added.
Due to the better paddy procurement policy of the state, the numbers of registered farmers have increased from 15 lakh in the year 2017 to 24 lakh currently, he said adding the state government is paying MSP of Paddy as Rs 2640 to Rs 2660 per quintal.
The cultivable land has also increased from 22 lakh hectare to now 32 lakh hectares and this year the state government plans to procure 1.10 crore tons paddy from the registered farmers of the state.
