Raipur, December 24, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today visited the residence of senior litterateur and Jnanpith Award recipient Vinod Kumar Shukla and paid his last respects to him.
The Chief Minister reached his residence in Shailendra Nagar, Raipur, and offered a wreath on the mortal remains, paying his respects and praying to God for the peace of the departed soul.
Sai also shouldered Shukla’s mortal remains, giving him a heartfelt farewell.

He met with the bereaved family members and expressed his deepest condolences, wishing them and the countless readers and literature lovers the strength to bear this immense loss.
The Chief Minister said that the passing of the great litterateur Vinod Kumar Shukla, who hailed from the soil of Chhattisgarh, is an irreparable loss to the Hindi literary world. His works are unparalleled examples of sensitivity, human concerns, and simple yet profound expression.

He said that Shukla’s writing gave new heights to Hindi literature. His literature not only deeply touches the readers but will also remain a source of inspiration and guidance for future generations. His contribution to the world of literature will always be remembered.
The Chief Minister said that this was the final journey of a creative personality who gave the literary world such invaluable works that are a treasure trove of literature. The thoughts of a writer and poet always live on; the ink of their pen becomes immortal in their words. Vinod ji’s literature will continue to guide our cultural consciousness, and his memories will always remain alive among us.

Shukla was given a state funeral. Present on the occasion were poet Dr. Kumar Vishwas, Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Pankaj Jha, Chief Minister’s Press Officer Alok Singh, President of Chhattisgarh Sahitya Akademi Shashank Sharma, senior litterateurs, public representatives, and officials.
