Raipur, February 02, 2026: Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Dr M L Jat today visited the product sales counter of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University (IGKV) Raipur and observed various agricultural products, technologies, and value-added items developed by the university.
Dr. Jat appreciated this innovative initiative of the agricultural university.
On this occasion, he interacted with scientists, agricultural entrepreneurs, and representatives of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) associated with IGKV.

This sales center sells agricultural products produced by Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Farmer Producer Organizations, and women’s self-help groups operating under Indira Gandhi Agricultural University.
During the visit, Dr. Jat was accompanied by Dr. D. K. Yadav, Deputy Director General (Crop Sciences), ICAR; Dr. Rajveer Singh, Deputy Director General (Extension), ICAR; Dr. Girish Chandel, Vice-Chancellor, IGKV; Dr. P. K. Roy, Director, NIBSM, Raipur; Dr. S. R. K. Singh, Director, ATARI Zone-IX, Jabalpur; and Dr. S. S. Tuteja, Director, Extension Services, IGKV, Raipur.
The Director General reviewed the research, extension, and technology transfer activities of IGKV and appreciated the quality of products prepared by various colleges, KVKs, and KVK-supported FPOs.
He emphasized market-oriented agriculture, value addition, branding, and commercialization, stating that such efforts play a significant role in increasing farmers’ income.
This visit reflects ICAR’s commitment to innovation-based and farmer-centric agricultural development.
