Raipur, February 18, 2024: Prominent Jain saint Acharya Vidyasagar has passed away today, official sources said.
Vidyasagar jee Maharaj is the top most saint from the Digambar Jain, who left his body at Chandragiri tirth of Dongargarh in Chhattisgarh.
Sources said Shree Vidyasagar jee Maharaj had three days back stopped taking water or food and set on Akhand Moun Vrat.
Both the Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai paid rich tributes to the departed soul. The society will ever remember the contribution of Vidyasagar jee maharaj, they said.
Meanwhile, the state government today declared a half-day state mourning on the demise of the Jain saint.
