Raipur, February 20, 2024: Chhattisgarh Agriculture and Tribal Affairs Minister Ram Vichar Netam today met the Union Minister for Agriculture and Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda and discussed about several pending projects of the state with the Central government.
During the discussion, Netam suggested a comprehensive plan to double the income of the farmers, including use of drone, community horticulture, and use of machines for farming, to the tune of Rs 1100 crore, official sources told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
Union Minister Munda had given his consent to the proposals of Chhattisgarh, they added.

Both had discussed to promote crops other than paddy to improve the economic conditions of the farmers of the state, they said.
Chhattisgarh has a better scope for corn and to increase the income of the farmers ethanol should also be produced in the state, Netam suggested and the Union Minister said he would examine the proposal and take appropriate steps.
If the comprehensive proposals of Chhattisgarh are accepted then the state would have corn crop in 50,000 hectare and also 1.45 lakh hectares of millets, Minister Netam said.
The state government has also purchased paddy of 21 quintals per acre as promised in November 2023 assembly election and targeted to procure 145 lakh tons of paddy this Khariff season, Netam told Munda.
