Raipur, March 02, 2023: Congress party today accused the Narendra Modi government at the Centre responsible for the steep hike in the prices of LPG and other petroleum products.
The profit making attitude of the Modi government is responsible for the steep increase in prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and other petroleum products in the country, Chhattisgarh PCC President Mohan Markam said today.
Stating that the price of LPG has reached ₹ 1174 per cylinder which was available less than ₹ 500 during the previous Congress government, Markam said because of the wrong and anti-people policy the inflation has become uncontrolled in Modi Raj.
To bring stability to the prices of LPG the Manmohan Singh led Congress government had given subsidy to the tune of ₹ 2 lakh 14 thousand crore to the people on LPG in its 10 years rule, whereas Modi government has only passed on as subsidy on LPG ₹ 36,500 crore to the people in its 9 years rule, claimed Markam.
People of the country are feeling suffocated because of the anti-people policy of the BJP led Central government, he added.
The people are being burdened with taxes by the Central government without showing any concern about the problems being faced by them, the top Congress leader of Chhattisgarh said.
