Raipur, June 29, 2023: Nand Kumar Sai, who recently switched sides from BJP to Congress, was today appointed Chairman of the State Industrial Development Corporation by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
Sai has been appointed Chairman SIDC and given a cabinet minister status, official sources said.
After the order was issued, Sai met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at CM House and thanked him.
CM Baghel congratulated Sai and wished him a successful tenure.

Close confidant of Chief Minister and State Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Girish Dewangan, Food Minister Amarjeet Bhagat and Raipur Mayor Ejaj Dhebar were also present during the meeting.
Before joining Congress party, Sai was in BJP. His old party BJP had made him MLA, MP Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha besides Chairman of the National Scheduled Tribe Commission.
Sai was also the State President of BJP and Leader of Opposition in Chhattisgarh Assembly before being defeated from then Chief Minister Ajit Jogi in 2003 Assembly election.
