Dantewada, January 29, 2010: Maoist today killed one CRPF inspector and injured another security personnel in violence hit Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, police said.
An Inspector of the Central Para Military Forces was killed when Maoists ambushed him in Ettegata jungle of Injaram-Bheji road of Dantewada district, Dantewada District Superintendent of Police Ambrish Mishra told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
When the personnel were on a search operation, the Inspector stepped in a pressure bomb and got killed, Mishra said.
In a separate incident in the same hyper sensitive Bastar region, one Head Constable received two bullets of the Left Wing Maoists during a two hours fierce gun battle in Bedre police station area of Bijapur District, Bijapur District Police Chief Avinash Mohanty said.
When the security forces were conducting an area domination operation, they were locked in a gun battle with the rebels, in which the Head Constable was critically injured, said Mohanty.
