Raipur, October 19, 2008: Chhattisgarh government is all set to start procurement of paddy from tomorrow when the notification for the state assembly election is also on the same date.
Through the 1577 procurement centres, about 1333 primary cooperative societies would procure paddy from October 20, and that would continue till January 31, 2009, Food and Civil Supply Department officials told the ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
For the common variety paddy the state would give Rs 850 per quintal where as for the A-Grade paddy it has been fixed as Rs 880.
This year the state is expecting to procure about 35 lakh tonnes of paddy, the officials said.
