Dantewada, September 28, 2011: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today appealed to the Maoists to shun violence for over all development of Bastar region and Chhattisgarh.
If Maoists shun violence the state government was ready to embrace them, the Chief Minister said addressing a function here.
Singh also said education would bring peace in the Bastar region.
Not only the area would be developed but also peace would prevail here in Bastar when the children of this region become doctor, engineer or administrative officer, Singh said.
The Chief Minister also gifted Rs 135 crore worth of welfare schemes to the district during his day long visit.
