Raipur, November 8, 2008: Tension built up today evening in a TV programme location set here, in which both Congress leader Ajit Jogi and Chief Minister Raman Singh were present but failed to stop their followers from damaging properties.
When anchor of a news channel was asking questions to both the top leaders of the state just ahead of the assembly election, supported from both of them started throwing chairs on each others and created a total chaos in the programme set.
However, when contacted, Raipur District Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar said he was trying to understand what had happened and how many of the chairs had been broken.
People present in that show said slogans were raised by BJP supporters when Raman failed to give reply to a direction question of Jogi of how many unemployed youths were given allowances as promised five years back by BJP in its election manifesto.
Seeing high pitch slogans in favour of Raman, Jogi supporters started giving a matcher and in the duel, not only the programme was affected but also chairs were broken.
The entire thing happened in the present of huge police forces but they preferred to remain as mute spectators, eyewitnesses said.
