Raipur, January 01, 2025: Chhattisgarh government has taken steps to dissolve 10 Municipal corporations of the state and appointed respective District Collectors as the Administrators in 10 Corporations including Municipal Corporation Raipur.
A notification to this effect has been issued by the State Government’s Urban Administration and Development Department, yesterday, official sources said today.

The state government said, as a result of the expiry of the term of the elected council in the municipal corporations, the concerned District Collector has been appointed as the Administrator to exercise the powers of the council and perform its duties.
Under the notification issued, the District Collector has been appointed as the Administrator in Municipal Corporation Rajnandgaon from 03 January 2025, Municipal Corporation Bilaspur and Jagdalpur from 04 January 2025, Municipal Corporation Raipur, Dhamtari, Durg, Raigarh and Chirmiri from 06 January 2025.
Similarly, the District Collector has been appointed as the Administrator in Municipal Corporation Ambikapur from 08 January 2025 and in Municipal Corporation Korba from 10 January 2025.
