12 Maoists; 3 Security Forces killed in Encounter in Chhattisgarh

At least 12 Maoists and three security forces were killed today in a fierce encounter in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, a senior Police officer said.

     Raipur, December 03, 2025: At least 12 Maoists and three security forces were killed today in a fierce encounter in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, a senior Police officer said.

     “12 (Twelve) bodies of the Maoists have been recovered from the encounter site in Bijapur-Dantewada districts in Chhattisgarh,” Bijapur District Superintendent of Police Dr Jitendra Yadav said.

     On specific information about the presence of Maoists in the interior area bordering Bijapur and Dantewada, located in south of Chhattisgarh in Bastar region, , a joint police party of central and state forces raided an interior forestry area.

     “In the fierce encounter at least 12 Maoists were killed,” Yadav said in a statement.

      “In the gun battle three policemen were also killed and two sustained injuries,” he said.

     “Reinforcement have been rushed to the spot and the area has been cordoned off and search operation is on,” the District Police Chief said.

     Since intermittent firing is on and the operation is continuing, the Bastar Inspector General of Police Sundarraj Pattilingam said they can not provide more details.

     However, automatic weapons, explosive and other materials have been recovered from the encounter site, the top police officer said adding forces are inside the forest area.
