Jagdalpur, July 18, 2024: A day after losing 12 of its cadre, Maoists today triggered a land mine blast killing two policemen and injuring 4 others.
Two STF jawans were killed today in a blast of improvised explosive device (IED), more known as land mines, in Tarrem area of Bijapur district in Bastar range of Chhattisgarh.
In that 4 jawans were also injured, official sources said.
The injured police personnel are being airlifted to capital Raipur for better medical treatment, the sources said.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai expressed deep sorrow over the death of jawans in Bijapur and wished speedy recovery of the injured ones.
Condemning the incident, the Chief Minister also said the fight against Maoists will continue in the state.
In a major incident in Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border of Wandoli village area under Gadchiroli district at least 12 cadres from the banned outfit CPI (Maoists) were yesterday shot dead by the elite force C-60 in Maharashtra.
Bodies of 12 Maoists have been recovered from the Wandoli village area after a six-hour long gun battle, Gadchiroli District Superintendent of Police Nilotpal had told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
In the gun battle, one Sub Inspector from the C-60 force and a police personnel were injured, who were airlifted to Nagpur city for further treatment, he added.
