Raipur, January 12, 2025: In an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh five Maoists from the banned outfit CPI (Maoist) were killed today, a top police officer said, adding in a separate explosion two forces were injured.
“After an encounter, the security forces have recovered five bodies of the Maoists,” Inspector General of Police Bastar Range Sundarraj P told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.

“Among the killed are two women cadre,” the Police Officer said adding all were in their uniform.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident a senior women cadre of the Maoist was arrested live, he said.
Giving details about the encounter, Sundarraj said on intelligence input of movement of a group of Maoists in Bandepara-Koranjed forest area of Bijapur district a team of security forces were dispatched.
Today morning both exchanged fires and that continued for over four hours, he said.

Subsequently during the search operation in the area five bodies have been recovered from the jungle along with a huge cache of arms and ammunitions, he said.
Among the important seized weapons are Barrel Grenade Launcher (BGL) and Self-Loaded Rifles (SLR) and explosives, he said.
In a separate incident of explosion in the same Bijapur district two policemen were injured.
During an area domination operation the Maoists triggered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which is also called landmine, in Jaigur of Janjgla area, in which two security forces sustained injuries, the police officer said.
The injured have been admitted in the Bijapur district hospital and are out of danger, he added.
Meanwhile, on intelligence input, Kanker police have captured a women Maoist named Malti alias Nirmala Kange from Koyilibeda area of Kanker district. She was head of Rowghat area committee of Maoists and was carrying Rs 8 lakh reward on her head.
Earlier on December 22, 2024 her husband Prabhakar aloas Balamuri Narayan Rao was arrested from the same Kanker district, IGP Sundarraj said.
