    Dantewada, May 8, 2010: A month after killing 76 security personnel in Central Indian state of Chhattisgarh, the Maoists today ambushed a vehicle of the Central Reserve Police Force and killed at least half a dozen security personnel in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh, police said.

     “At least six personnel of the CRPF were killed in Bijapur district in a land mine blast on National Highway-16, which connect Chhattisgarh with Andhra Pradesh” Bastar Range Inspector General of Police T J Longkumer told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.

     When the CRPF personnel were returning to their camp, the vehicle in which they were travelling in, was ambushed near Kodepal, about 8 km from the district headquarters Bijapur, Bijapur Police Control Room officials also said.

     About a month back on April 6 last the Maoists had massacred 76 para military forces in an ambush in Tadmetla area of Dantewada district.

     Bijapur is the neighbouring district of Dantewada and Maoists have a strong base in both the districts, said police.
