Raipur, July 12, 2025: In Swachh Survey-2024, the urban local bodies of Chhattisgarh have once again registered their strong presence at the national level as 7 urban bodies of the state have been selected for national awards for outstanding performance on the standards of cleanliness.
President Droupadi Murmu will confer national awards to seven urban bodies of the state for outstanding performance on the standards of cleanliness at the Swachh Survey Award Ceremony to be held on 17 July in New Delhi.
Murmu will confer the President’s Award to three urban bodies of Chhattisgarh at the Swachh Survey Award Ceremony.
For excellent work in the field of cleanliness, this honour will be given to Bilaspur Municipal Corporation in the category of cities with three lakh to ten lakh population (Big Cities), Kumhari Municipality in the category of cities with 20 thousand to 50 thousand population (Small Cities) and Bilha Nagar Panchayat in the category of cities with less than 20 thousand population (Very Small Cities).
Apart from this, Raipur Municipal Corporation will be awarded the Ministerial Award by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for best work at the state level in the field of cleanliness.

A special category called Super Swachhata League (SSL) has been introduced this year to recognize the cities performing exceptionally in the field of cleanliness. Those cities have been included in this league, which have been ranked in the top three at least once in the last three years and are in the top 200 in their respective population category in the current year. Three urban bodies of Chhattisgarh have been selected in this new category – Ambikapur Municipal Corporation (category of cities with a population of 50 thousand to three lakh), Patan Nagar Panchayat and Bishrampur Nagar Panchayat (category of cities with a population of less than 20 thousand) have been selected for SSL.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that from urban governments to the state and central government, everyone is working together with many innovations to make the cities clean, beautiful and well-equipped.
“It is a matter of pride for the entire state that seven urban bodies of Chhattisgarh have been selected at the national level in Swachh Survekshan-2024. This is a proof of the collective efforts of our urban administration, local bodies and citizens,” Sai said.
“The example set by cities like Bilaspur, Kumhari, Bilha, Raipur, Ambikapur, Patan and Bishrampur in the field of cleanliness will also become an inspiration for other bodies. I congratulate all the winning urban bodies and express confidence that Chhattisgarh will remain the leading state of the country in this campaign of cleanliness,” he said.
Along with Chief Minister Sai Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao have also congratulated and wished all the seven urban bodies selected for the National Awards in the Swachh Survey.
This is an excellent result of the continuous efforts being made by the Urban Administration and Development Department and local bodies to make the cities of the state clean and beautiful, they said.
They expressed hope that in the coming times, more urban bodies of the state will be honoured at the national level for cleanliness.
