Raipur, November 21, 2008: The second phase of 51 seats went to poll yesterday to decide the fate of 687 candidates, including 50 women, but the percentage of polling in Lailunga seat was the highest among all the segments.
The second phase of election was to decide the fate of the Jogi couple, Ajit Jogi from Marwahi and his wife Renu from Kota and their seats registered 75.14 per cent and 71.00 per cent respectively.
The data compiled by the Election Desk of the ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com said the urban area had not had a good percentage of votes compared to rural or tribal sectors.
As many as 44,81,788 male and 43,32,440 female, in total 88,14,228 electorates were there for the second phase of election to decide the fate of candidates like BJP President Vishnu Dev Sai, Ministers Brij Mohan Agrawal, Ram Vichar Netam and Amar Agrawal Congress leaders Nand Kumar Patel, Satya Narayan Sharma, Dhanendra Sahu and NCP President Novel Verma among others.
The highest number of 29 candidates are in Bhatgaon seat where as the lowest seven candidates are in Pathalgaon seat.
Counting of votes for 39 seats of the first phase and 51 segments of the second phase election would takes place on December 8 and the election process has to be completed by December 13.
