Many eyebrows rise for absent of Advani in Korba function of Raman

            Korba, August 26, 2008: Despite all preparations top BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani today only attended the function at Raipur where as decided to stay away from the Korba, which was the personal function of his Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh.

The absent of Advani from Korba function raised many eye brows in the political circle here as Singh is holding the power portfolio also and on his decision the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate was invited to lay the foundation stone for the Rs 7000 crore two power plants of a total capacity of 1500 MW.

            Although the Chief Minister said due to last moment engagement Advani skipped the Korba meeting, but his rivals painted it in a different way saying he failed to get the Chief Guest where as the trio Brij Mohan Agrawal, Ajay Chandrakar and Prem Prakash Pandey succeeded in demonstrating their metal before the top leader.

            What ever might be the reason for Advani’s absent, but the party had able, not only to demonstrate an impressive gathering at the Sapre Maidan at Raipur but also sent across a message that they are still the best crowd puller in the state.

            It was such an unmanageable gathering at the meeting place that the main gate had to be locked to put the extra crowd out side the Sapre Maidan to avoid any untoward incident, eyewitnesses said.

            As expected, Advani also kicked off the campaign for the coming November Assembly election to help the BJP continue in power for another five year term by reminding the people about the policy of BJP to provide clean politics and good governance.

            “As long as BJP was in opposition it played a very clean politics and in government provided a good governance at the Centre as the party believed in clean politics and good governance,” Advani said in Raipur and praising Raman Singh saying he was happy that in the nearly five years tenure his government had provided a su-raj (good governance) here.

            “We need honest government for development and I congratulate the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh for proving that to the state,” he said and also praised Rural Development Minister Ajay Chandrakar for the Naba Anjor programme saying even the World Bank has praised the Naba Anjor, which was started after BJP came to power in the state.

            Addressing the government function, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said the previous governments of Congress in the last 50 years had done nothing for the state but in its tenure the state BJP government not only had changed the life of poors but also that of the scenario of the rural sector.

            Advani also claimed that the Centre had failed to control terrorism and the current situation in Kashmir was like that of 1953. After the Independence in 1947 and till 1953 any one visiting Vaishno Devi shrine from India had to take permit, and it was the same for hoisting Tri-Colour of the country.

            The people are again facing a similar situation today as in one side tri-colour was hoisted by the people in Jammu and in opposition to that in Kashmir valley some people are moving with the Pakistani flag, he said.
