Cong opposes Raman’s statement on Digvijay

       Raipur, April 27, 2010: Chhattisgarh Congress today raised objection to the statement of Chief Minister Raman Singh accusing AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh of involved in double speak and intellectually dishonest.

     After having defeated in the hand of Raman Singh for four consecutive terms in Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party today also advised the Chief Minister to use selective words against Digvijay Singh.

    During the Congress regime the naxal activity was confined to a small portion of Dantewada district, which had now converted into a huge problem during the Raman regime, claimed PCC President Dhanendra Sahu, Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey and others in a statement.

     During the Digvijay Singh tenure several effective steps were taken to root out naxalism and among them was the abolish of contractors police for plucking of tendu leaves, which was re-introduced after Raman Singh became Chief Minister, they accused.

     Because of the change in tendu leave police, the naxalites got huge financial support from Chhattisgarh, they said.

     Salwa Judum was also the reflection of administrative failure of the Raman Government and due to lack of coordination and intelligence failure 76 CRPF jawans were killed on April 6, the Congress leaders claimed.
