     Ambikapur, April 28, 2010: In a step towards energy conservation, the offices of the District Collector Sarguja would now be powered through solar energy, officials said today.

      The Chamber of the District Collector and the meeting hall would be charged through the solar energy, officials said.

     In a step to conserve and use clean energy sources, the District Collector Dr Kamal Preet Singh has decided to use the solar energy sources for his chamber, meeting hall and the main computer of the NIC, they said.

     With an investment of Rs 11 lakh a solar system was being set up of 4.5 kilo watt to power the District Collectorate, they said adding the scheme would get a subsidy of Rs 5 lakh.

     This would inspire both the government and non-government organizations and individuals to use the solar energy in the district and outside, the Collector also said.
