Raipur, October 10, 2008: The first list of candidates of the ruling BJP for the next month’s Chhattisgarh assembly election would be out by the month end, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said here today.
The ruling party had given charges to eleven senior party leaders of the state to prepare a list of names for each of the 90 segments and that would be submitted to the Party President Rajnath Singh during his scheduled visit tomorrow, Singh said.
After an initial discussion with the party President either new names would be included or existing names be deleted and a final list would be sent to the Central Election Committee for its approval.
By the month end the entire process would be completed and the first list of candidates could be expected by the month end, the Chief Minister told reporters here.
To ensure continue in power, the eleven BJP leaders had visited all the districts in groups and also took inputs from all local committees about the current people’s representatives and leaders, party sources also said.
