Raipur, October 12, 2008: Chhattisgarh Government has accorded the status of a Cabinet Minister rank to Chhattisgarhi Language Commission Chairman Shyam Lal Chaturvedi.
A GAD order said Chaturvedi would have the status of a cabinet minister rank.
On October 4, last the state government had appointed two eminent persons in the Chhattisgarhi Rajbhasha Ayog taking the total number of members to three, including the Chairman.
Among them Dr Ramendranath Mishra a native of Raipur, is an eminent historian where as famous Chhattisgarhi poet Kedar Singh Parihar is from Bilaspur.
