Raipur, October 13, 2008: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today opened the Chhattisgarh Health and Medical Sciences University here. With that eleven Universities are currently functioning in the state under the government sector.
A total of 51 medical educational institutions of Allopath, Homoeopath, Ayurved, Dental, Physiotherapy and Nursing have been put under the Chhattisgarh Ayush Abum Swasthya Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya.
All those medical institutes would enroll 2870 students every year, officials said.
With the new medical university a total of eleven universities have started functioning in the state.
Besides the Medical University, Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Hidayatullah National Law University, Indira Gandhi Agriculture University and Kushabhau Thakre Journalism and Mass Communication University are located in the capital city.
Where as Indira Arts and Music University is located in Khairagarh of Kawardha District.
Pandit Sundar Lal Sharma Open University and Guru Ghasidas University are located in Bilaspur.
Swamy Vivekanand Technical University is functioning from Bhilai of Durg district where as Bastar University is from Jagdalpur and Sarguja University from Ambikapur.
