Raipur, March 20, 2015: The Chhattisgarh state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today made approver the personal Assistant of the Managing Director of Nagarik Apoorti Nigam or NAN (State Civil Supply Corporation).
Girish Sharma and Arvind Dhruv have been made the approvers by the ACB in the recovery of millions of rupees in a raid in various offices of the NAN last month.
Very secretively they were produced before a local court and made government witnesses in the case.
On February 12, 2015 ACB sleuths simultaneously raided the headquarters of the Nagarik Apoorti Nigam (Civil Supply Corporation) at Raipur and 27 other places across the state and a cash amount of about Rs 2.75 crore were seized.
Rs 1.69 crore cash was recovered from the Raipur chamber of the Manager Shiv Shankar Bhat, ACB sources have said.
From the chamber of Girish Sharma, steno of the Managing Director NAN Anil Kumar Tuteja, Rs 20 lakh cash was recovered.
Rs 36 lakh was recovered from the residence of the NAN Computer operator Chitram.
Rs 7.25 lakh were recovered from the district officer Sudhir Kumar Bhole.
From the residence of D K Sharma, who is working in Balod Ware house, the ACB seized Rs 30 lakh cash.
ADG ACB Mukesh Gupta has said they had information about large scale corruption in custom milling because of which the raids were conducted.
The money that was recovered today was meant to be distributed among the officials, he has said.
