Raipur, December 25, 2015: Chhattisgarh witnessed lot of political activities in the year that was.
As if the entire activities were in sufficient, the last date of 2015 will have counting of votes for 11 urban local bodies, which will go to poll on December 28.
Both the ruling BJP and opposition Congress wanted to register victory on the last date of the year.
Whether outsourcing of jobs for teachers or education minister Kedar Kashyap’s wife Shanti involved in a scandal as someone else appeared for her in MA English final examination, no one was ready to reach any conclusion and all were trying to give all issues a political colour to push the government to a corner.
Prashant Bhushan had also twitted claiming Rajnandgaon BJP MP Abhishek Singh has foreign bank account, the allegation was quickly denied by his Chief Minister father Dr Raman Singh. However, Congress raked up that linking with the black money issue.
Over the year BJP was seen gradually losing the balance between the party and the government, which might have a bearing on the political dream of the ruling party.
The raids by Anti Corruption Bureau in 28 premises of the Nagarik Apoorti Nigam or State Civil Supply Corporation yielding crores of rupees of irregularities have the opposition a huge weapon to pin down the government on the issue of corruption.
In the coming days, the Chief Minister has to take some strong action to improve the image of his government.
