Kanker, November 14, 2022: Looking into the Bhanupratappur by-poll the Election Commission has issued instruction to deposit all licenced weapons in the nearby police stations of Kanker district in Chhattisgarh, official sources said today.
District Collector Dr Priyanka Shukla has issued order asking all licenced weapons to be deposited in the nearby police stations.
The instruction had been issued as the notification for the by-election to Bhanupratappur (ST) assembly seat has been issued, they said.
This order is applicable to all licenced weapons from Kanker district.
However, people engaged in guard duties and other services have been given exemptions.
By-election in Bhanupratappur assembly segment was necessitated following the death of its sitting Congress MLA Manoj Singh Mandavi on October 16, last after a massive cardiac arrest.
