Raipur, December 27, 2022: Levelling serious allegations against the Enforcement Directorate, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today alleged the central agency was engaged in torturing people to get statement of their desire.
Since BJP cannot do anything against the state Congress government, they had brought in ED to the state, said the Chief Minister.
ED is arresting people. Arrest is ok if one is involved in wrong doing. But why are they beating people, asked Baghel.
The ED is beating people, asking them to put signature on statements. The ED is torturing people. One industrialist is in hospital, he said.
All these things are happening because BJP have failed to win a straight fight against the state government, so they are engaged in defaming the government, he said.
The BJP has been repeatedly alleging that the Congress government is corrupt, just to defame it, he said.
After ED arrested one IAS, a state cadre administrative officer, one Congress leader and couple of other people, Congress party and the Chief Minister had been criticising the ED and the BJP for the ED and IT actions in the state.
However, the ED had been maintaining silence over the allegations of torture.
