Raipur, June 20, 2011: Assam Meghalaya cadre IAS officer Vijayendra was today removed from the Chairmanship of the Professional Examination Board, after the question paper for the Pre-medical test was leaked for the second time with in a gap of couple of days.
It is said that the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh was very annoyed with the “irresponsible attitude” of the IAS officer, who was said to be on deputation after hectic lobby by a section of the BJP leaders.
On hearing the second time leak of PMT question papers, the angry Chief Minister has asked for immediate sacking of Vijayendra from the Professional Examination Board along with his Examination Controller, official sources said.
Singh has also appointed his Secretary K Subramaniam as the new Chairman of the Professional Examination Board, which conduct the PMT and Pradeep Choubey as the new Examination Controller.
Vijayendra would now only function as the Secretary-cum-Commissioner Mines where as Subramaniam has been given the Chairmanship as an additional charge.
The new Examination Controller was functioning as the Officer on Special Duty in the Higher Education Department.
