Raipur, January 16, 2023: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today presided over an important meeting of the Tribal Advisory Council and approved the Reservation Amendment Bill.
The Reservation Bill-2022, which was recently passed by the State assembly, was today approved by the Tribal Advisory Council along with the Reservation Bill-2022 for Admission in Educational Institutes, official sources said.
The Reservation Bill favoured 32 per cent reservation for Tribals in the state, which has been pending in the Raj Bhawan since December 2 2022 for approval.
The meeting also opposed the attempt to privatise the Nagarnar Steel Plant and decided to urge the Central Government not to disinvest the plant, located in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister also informed the meeting that the state government has decided to take stern action against the people, who are engaged in disturbing the social harmony in the Scheduled areas of the state.
