Dantewada, April 27, 2023: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reached here today and paid tributes to the 10 jawans, who were killed in a Maoists blast in Aranpur area yesterday.
Led by the Chief Minister, several dignitaries today paid tributes to the 10 martyr jawans here.
The Chief Minister also met the family members of the jawans and consoled them.
Home Minister Tamraddhwaj Sahu, DGP Ashok Juneja, IG Bastar P Sunder Raj among others had paid tributes to the martyrs.
When the jawans were returning from a combing operation yesterday, Maoists targetting them triggered a powerful land mine blast in Aranpur police station area killing 10 jawans of the District Reserve Guard or DRG and one civilian driver.
Ignoring the standard operating procedure the jawans were travelling in a vehicle while in naxal operation and the Maoists carried out the blast in a well build road, police sources said.
The impact of the blast was so strong that the explosion had created a crater of about 8 feet on the high way.
